Boosted board updated

Was just looking over the boosted board blog and I have to say their boards have come a long way since the prototype. You can tell they’ve but a fantastic amount of time and effort in testing and reworking the designs and they look fantastic.

ESC

They’ve moved from off the shelf ESCs to a very nice looking, compact, built from the ground up, dual ESC. With the fins it looks very sexy.

Motor Mounts & Trucks

The other big change is the motor mount. Each motor is now individually mounted clamping around the trucks. It looks like they’re now using calibre truck which has a square profile making clamping much more secure than a round profile trucks.  For those looking to make their own motor mount  look at the photo of their early prototype below.

Another significant addition to the motor mount is tensioning springs on the motor to keep an even tension on the belt. This is a first for any project I’ve seen.

They’ve done a heap of other advances and tweaks in the design so check out their blog for more details.
