So the problem with making your own electric skateboard is mounting the motor to the trucks to allow for movement but also keeping the chain/belt in place.
Hey maybe you can ebay a set of trucks with a motor mount ready to go? A quick google is A going to tell you that this might be a little tough.
While you can find these two dodgy looking skateboard trucks or you can purchase 2000 or them off alibab.com your still going to have the problem of fitting a standard size motor and chain/belt arrangement.

Hence some level of customizaiton of the motor mount and gearing is going to be necessary.
